Sand Harbor launch closing

The public boat launch at Sand Harbor State Park on the East Shore of Lake Tahoe will be closed after Labor Day, due to low water. The parking area will remain open.

Know the Law

Boaters must have a life jacket for every person on board.

Children must wear jackets at all times (under 12 in California, and under 13 in Nevada).

No motorized craft is allowed within 600’ of shoreline and must maintain 5mph in shore zone and buoy fields.

Nevada residents born after Jan. 1, 1983, are required to complete a boat safety course and carry documentation in order to operate a boat.

Obey navigation markers (buoys) around the lake.

Operators must follow the laws of the state the boat is registered in regardless of which state there are in on Lake Tahoe.
